Grow a Garden just dropped its biggest update yet with the Mega Safari Harvest Event in Update 1.31.0. This massive event brings a safari-themed expansion with new plants, pets, items, and community milestones that reward all players for working together. Here’s everything you need to know about the Mega Safari Harvest Event and how to make the most of it.
What Is the Mega Safari Harvest Event?
The Mega Safari Harvest Event is a limited-time community event where players submit fruits to earn safari harvest points. The biggest change from previous events is the 2x multiplier, when the Mega Safari Harvest is active, all fruit submissions count as double points. This means you can progress faster and unlock rewards twice as quickly compared to regular harvest events.
Players contribute by submitting specific plant types to Safari Joyce, an NPC located near the shipping containers in the center of the lobby. The points you earn contribute to both individual rewards and global community milestones that unlock new content for everyone.
Meet Safari Joe and Exchange Pets for Rewards

Safari Joe is a brand new NPC who offers a unique trading system. You can submit pets to Safari Joe in exchange for exclusive rewards. The better the pet you give him, the better the rewards you’ll receive in return. This creates a new way to use duplicate or lower-tier pets while collecting rare items from the safari collection.
New Safari Plants You Can Grow

The Mega Safari Harvest Event introduces seven new plants inspired by safari wildlife and landscapes. These plants typically sell for higher values than standard crops, making them excellent for earning Sheckles.
- Zebrazinkle: A safari-themed plant with zebra-inspired patterns
- Peacock Tail: A colorful plant based on peacock feathers with a prismatic rarity and 112,000 sell value
- Java Banana: A tropical banana variety with divine rarity and 91,000 sell value
- Castor Bean: A mythical bean plant worth 85,000
- Amberfruit Shrub: A legendary shrub that produces amber-colored fruit worth 58,000
- Bamboo Tree: A tall legendary woody plant worth 61,000
- Daisy: A simple uncommon flower plant worth 25,000 for all skill levels
These plants come in different rarity tiers from Uncommon to Prismatic, giving both new and experienced players goals to chase. All of these plants are available in the Safari Seed Pack.
New Safari Pets Including Lions and Crocodiles

The update adds exciting new pets to collect from Safari Eggs. The two confirmed pets are the Lion and Crocodile, with at least four more safari animals to discover. Early reports suggest these additional pets include hippos and lizards.
You can obtain Safari Eggs by purchasing them from the Safari Shop when they’re in stock, or by earning them as rewards for contributing 500 points worth of crops to Safari Joyce. The Lion is a divine-rarity pet available from the Safari Shop.
Exclusive Items in the Safari Shop

The Safari Shop features brand new event-exclusive items that you can only get during the Mega Safari Harvest Event. Many items are locked behind community milestone goals. The shop is run by Wilderness Will, an NPC at the event platform.
Safari Seed Pack: Contains six possible seeds from the new safari collection. This is your best option for collecting multiple plant types quickly. You have a 1.67% chance to get this pack as a reward for every 500 points you contribute, or you can purchase it from the Safari Shop once the community reaches 120 billion points. It’s also available for Robux: 1 pack for 199 Robux, 3 packs for 575 Robux, or 10 packs for 1,699 Robux.
Savannah Crate: Includes six possible cosmetics with safari themes like explorer outfits and animal-inspired accessories.
Ancestral Horn: A special ability item that calls upon a spirit of the Savanna to help you in your garden.
Safari Obelisk Charm: Summons the greater elements of the Safari to boost your gardening power.
Pet Mutation Shards: Various shards that let you mutate your pets for unique appearances and abilities.
The Safari Shop refreshes on a timer that starts at one hour but decreases as the community reaches higher milestones, eventually dropping to just 15 minutes at the highest tier.
Community Milestones and Global Rewards
The Mega Safari Harvest Event features brand new community milestones that unlock rewards for every player. As the global community reaches point thresholds, new content becomes available including new weather events, shop items, and special abilities.
Safari Mini Achievements also debut in this update, giving you personal goals to complete during the event for additional rewards. These achievements track your individual progress separate from the community milestones.
New Safari Weather Events
The update introduces various new safari weather patterns that affect your garden. These weather events can trigger special mutations on your plants and increase growth rates. The weather types unlock at different milestone tiers as the community progresses through the event.
Quality of Life Improvements
Beyond the event content, Update 1.31.0 includes major quality-of-life upgrades that improve the overall game experience.
Pet Inventory Upgrades: You can now purchase five pet inventory capacity upgrades. Each upgrade unlocks 10 additional pet inventory slots, giving you up to 50 extra spaces for your growing pet collection.
Divine Seed Planting Animation: Seeds of Divine rarity or higher now have a special planting animation that makes planting rare seeds feel more rewarding.
Reworked Cosmetic Shop UI: The cosmetic shop received a complete visual overhaul for easier browsing and purchasing.
Updated Daily Deals UI: The Seed Shop’s Daily Deals section has a cleaner, more user-friendly interface.
New Admin Quests: Additional quests have been added to the admin quest line for more content.
Bug Fixes and Performance Updates
The development team fixed several important bugs including an issue where players couldn’t trade certain mutated pets. Various UI scaling problems were resolved, and bugs in the Egg and Gear shops were patched. The update also includes performance improvements that should make the game run smoother across all devices.
Mega Safari Harvest Event Tips
To get the most out of the Mega Safari Harvest Event, focus on submitting higher-rarity plants since they award more points. Common plants give 1 point, Uncommon give 2 points, Rare give 3 points, Legendary give 4 points, Mythical give 5 points, Divine give 6 points, Prismatic give 7 points, and Transcendent give 8 points.
Remember that fruit submissions count for 2x points during active Mega Safari Harvest periods, so time your submissions wisely. Keep a variety of plant types in your inventory since Safari Joyce requests different plant categories that rotate. Submit plants strategically to reach the 500-point milestone faster for better chances at rare rewards.
The Mega Safari Harvest Event offers tons of new content to explore. Whether you’re collecting the new plants and pets, trading with Safari Joe, or working toward community milestones, there’s something for everyone in this safari adventure. Make sure to participate regularly to unlock all the exclusive items before the event ends.
